App Review: Pluto TV

I am not a cord cutter by any means, but I do watch a lot of stuff on my Apple TV. What I think I would miss most in cutting cable would be mindlessly flicking around channels looking for something to watch. Pluto TV brings that experience to your iOS or Apple TV. This isn't content from your local networks, or even deep cable. Instead, you get a variety of online content providers. This includes diverse sources like Nerdist, The Young Turks, and Shout Factory. There’s also a cable-like collection of music channels. There are two channels of nothing but Mystery Science Theater 3000, which by themselves make this app worth downloading.

I really like this app, as will anyone who grew up in the days of channel surfing. If you’ve got a big cable package, this might not be the app for you. Some of the classic TV and movie content you aren’t going to find anywhere, and did I mention MST3K? You can grab Pluto TV for iOS, the Mac, or Apple TV.
